Wir waren im Juni 2022 dort und haben uns Porto angesehen, sind ins Douro-tal gefahren, um die Landschaft zu erkunden. Der Platz war sehr schön gelegen und die Anordnung der Stellplätze in Fahrtrichtung hat uns überzeugt, somit sind wir im Windschutz gesessen. Die Sanitäranlagen waren sauber und die Anbindung an Porto war für uns perfekt.

nice site with mostly caravans. advise to book as gets full even in the low season. clean toilets and showers although no toilet seats or lids. water was hot and you had 7 minutes. lovely bar which was incredibly cheap. good restaurant across the road and beach less than 5 minutes walk. shopping centre with supermarket and metro station for Porto a 6 Euro taxi ride then 4 Euro train ticket gets you to heart of Porto in 25mins. good site

Positives - if I could rate the staff more highly I would - the most accommodating as possible, including getting to Porto and back (easy peasy). Lovely little supermarket and great bar. Negatives- the site is under a fly path so if you are a light sleeper you will be awake early. Also most of the caravans/awnings look like they died years ago although many come to life at the weekends when the locals move in. Also not impressed with no toilet seats and paper or soap in the toilets and the restricted 7 mins hot shower. Although the site is incredibly good VFM I would prefer to pay a couple of extra euros to eradicate these.

This is a first class campsite, very clean with very good facilities, excellent showers, washing up area and laundry room. Great pitches, with good electric hook up. This campsite has a brilliant fairly priced shop with all your needs, and a lovely bar and cafe, and good Wi-Fi. W loved it here, the staff were all so friendly and helpful and kind. We initially stayed for 2 nights but extended it to 5, before going further south, but then we turned for another 5 nights on our way back as it was so good. The surrounding area is lovely, you can walk for miles along the boardwalks and there are are lots of good cafes and restaurants, I would highly recommend Caravela and Reubens. VilaCha itself is lovely and worth exploring.This campsite is also a good stop for visiting Porto, which you can do on the nearby Metro, very easy and costs approx 4euros return, Porto is fantastic and I highly recommend visiting here.Last but not least, the reception here is so friendly and efficient, and extremely helpful, we felt very well cared for it was undoubtedly our best campsite in Portugal, out of 15 others.

Rudest receptionist in all of France Spain and Portugal.... give it a miss unless you\'ve no alternative...

This is an excellent campsite and well worth a long stay at. Close to the beach (<300metres) away with a very well stocked shop, well stocked bar and snack restaurant, 2 sets of very clean and well maintained loos and it is run by very helpful staff. Host speaks good English and is very helpful.

Have a good laugh at the English translation on the chemical loo disposal point when you’re there...

Layout of the site is interesting; there’s 2 areas for touring caravans and motorhomes. One essentially a long line facing the South and sheltered from winds by a high hedge. The other is a typically laid out site with adjacent pitches. Electricity is 6 amp but stable (which is good because they lock the cabinets so you’ve no access to trip-switches so take care.

Access is easy, except it’s via a cobbled road with very steep speed bumps - go very slowly - there’s a real risk of grounding.

This is also a large residential site (>100), though it looks like most of the residential pitches are seasonal as most were closed down when we there in early July. If you go in July or August it might be a bit busy!

If you want to visit Porto, this site is ideal. There’s a very modern and clean Metro that takes 30 minutes to the centre of Porto and all the tourist attractions only 10 minutes away with loads of parking (the parking is in a very large car park for an Outlet Fashion Shopping Mall, so you can shop and park!). Parking is free and Metro is stupidly cheap at only €2.60 per trip per person. Ask at reception for an info sheet before you buy tickets though as the ticketing is confusing (tip: you buy a “title” (titulos) for each one way trip, so to buy a return ticket you buy 2 titulos....simple eh?)

Porto is wonderful and well worth at least 2 days touristing, especially the wine lodges and the 1900s historic trams.

Great camping with warm welcom. Superb sani and large pitches. Close to the beach and good restaurants. Well stocked supermarket and nice bar with glass of welcome port. Public transport to Porto is first by taxi and then by train.

An excellent campsite for visiting Porto. Access to the site from the main roads is easy as is access into the site for caravans and motorhomes. Maria runs the reception and is incredibly friendly and efficient. There are no pitches as such you are just shown to an area. We had plenty of space however it could be tight in the high season. Electric all worked fine as did the very clean toilets and showers. They are free and have a 7 minute timer. On site is a very good little supermarket with fresh bread every day. No need to pre order. Most people staying at the site appeared to be there so as to visit Porto. The metro station is a10 minute taxi ride and costs €6 for the taxi which will take 4 people. Maria will organise this for you. There was always a taxi waiting at the metro in the evening to bring us back to the campsite so no need to book.The metro runs every 30 mins and the express train takes 30 mins into Porto at a cost of €4.60 return. Tickets have to bought at the station from a machine which when we used it 2 days running did not accept credit cards or notes. Only coins but does give change. The beach is a 5 minute walk downhill from the campsite and was very clean with plenty of sand. However due to the rocky nature of this part of the coast it is very difficult to find access to the water to swim. There are a number of very good restaurants very close to the campsite. One is opposite however we ate at Caravela which is a 5 minute walk and was excellent both in terms of food , service and price. There is free wi-fi at the site in the bar area. Grey waste and toilet emptying were both well set out .
