Thriftwood Holiday Park

On arrival at the site, we found the staff to be very helpful; we had no booking but we were accepted on an hard standing pitch for our camper; on the pitch there was water, electric and satellite tv connection.
The sanitary block was brand new, heated, and spotless, with lot of room; in fact perfect.
The local environment was very nice, a small amount of noise from the motoway and brands hatch circuit but not obtrusive. We would recommend this park to anyone.
Just a shame that pets are not allowed in the lounge bar, because they loose customer.

We went as a party of three couples and were placed on three adjacent pitches. The facilities were excellent, new shower blocks up to a very high standard. The staff were so welcoming and as two of the couples were new to caravanning so patient. The pitches were also excellent having recently been converted into hard stansdings with electricity, water and a Sat TV connection on each pitch. I cannot fault this site and would recommend it to anyone

Lovely people, lovely camping. The new toilets and showers for the men were finished. They were still very busy trying to get the ladies done. I was told I could use the disabled faculties but chose to use the men's. Glad I did, the showers are perfect. Plenty of room to change and instant hot water (+ heated building). My husband, a fervent DIY'r ,was amazed at the quality of the work done in there. The camping was clean and well looked after. The grass already cut so we didn't have the usual problem when you stay on a camping early in the season, the constant sound of lawn mowers. We will use this camping again and will advise any other of our English friends coming off the boat at Dover to consider it as at least a stop-over. All it remains for me to say, is a big Thank you for all the help you offered us during our stay.

Gepland en geboekt een weekend verblijf in Thriftwood, maar in het weekend veranderd in een week, we vonden het geweldig. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen bij het hotel zelf werden we zo hartelijk begroet, de receptioniste was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We kregen een mooi veld bij het zwembad, de plaatsen worden goed onderhouden en de gronden zijn brandschoon. We maakten goed gebruik van het verwarmde zwembad, douches en toiletten waren schoon en netjes. De camping is hondvriendelijk met grote boswandelingen. De bar had een geweldige sfeer, we voelden ons thuis op de 1e nacht, ook in contact gebleven met een aantal lieve mensen die er fulltime verblijven. En de bar was kindvriendelijk met veel entertainment en goed restaurant. Personeel tijdens ons verblijf zeer vriendeljik, niets was te veel moeite. Veel te doen voor de kinderen. We hebben ook een dagje Londen gerdaan (een korte treinrit van Thriftwood).

Booked site a week ahead. When arrived no record of booking. Credit card machine not working insisted on cash, go to local cash point if necessary. No receipt given. Apologised that no-one to site us but we could go anywhere. Found ideal loose-stone hard standing pitch that had water and electricity. Set up van, to be told later by neighbour that we were on a car park, and electricity point we were using was metered as we were in area for seasonal pitches. Impolite and arrogant reception staff member said that assistance with pitching had been offered but turned down (not true) and if we didn't like it we could leave. Finally offered a £10 electricity meter card. An attractive rustic site but looks tired. Mostly holiday homes and seasonal pitches with mainly Hobby/Fendt type caravans, in fact our neighbour confirmed that he lives on the site. Only four showers for men and women so probably would struggle in busy period. No shower doors, only curtains
